A good friend of mine, Dan McBride, was working in a shoe store when he saw an ad for a new sneaker.
“They were talking about the Nike Zoom and they said, ‘If you’re gonna sell sneakers, don’t make them so big,'” McBride says.
“I was like, ‘Why are you making them big?
They’re only going to wear out.’
It was a dumb decision.
But then I saw a different ad, and I was like: ‘OK, I’m not doing that.
What’s the point?
What’s going to make people want to buy sneakers?'”
In the next three months, McBride and his team made a series of big changes, including redesigning their store to be a more business-friendly space.
“The first year was a great experience,” McBride told ESPN Clic.
“When we were opening up the store, there was no concept of making the space more businesslike.”
McBride realized that his store would only sell Nike shoes, and he wanted to make sure that the items they sold were the best ones for their business.
He made sure to offer great deals and free samples to get people to go back to the store.
In 2016, the company began selling more high-end sneakers at the store and opened a new outlet in a new location.
McBride’s vision changed from a small store to a large store, which he describes as “a huge transformation.”
His store now has a full-time sales team and a “shop floor” where people can come in and try different brands.
It’s also been home to a brand-new pop-up store that McBride hopes will open in 2019.
And today, the store’s sales team is still doing what they were doing in the beginning: “It’s been amazing,” McBriere says.
The store now sells Nike shoes and other sports-inspired apparel, but the store also offers a great selection of other high-quality shoes, from casual shoes to full-on athletic shoes.
For many shoppers, the shoe department has been an easy way to get the latest and greatest.
McBree’s store is one of the only places where people who want to spend time in the shoe aisle can shop, and McBride said that the experience has been great.
“People just come in, and they say, ‘I want to go in there and I want to see these,'” he says.
